HOW DO I TRAVEL FROM ATHENS TO AMORGOS?

Amorgos does not have an airport but is easily reached with daily ferries and high speed vessels. Athens International Airport (ATH) is the most convenient to arrive. Ferries start from Athens port, Piraeus and dock alternately at the two ports of Amorgos Island: Katapola and Aegiali (near to the hotel).

All options for your transfer from Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos to the port of Piraeus:

  • Private transfer: Contact us to arrange it for you >

  • Bus: Express bus X96 leaves every 20 minutes during the day and every 40 minutes at night from the Athens International Airport Arrivals Level (between Entrance 4 and 5) to “Karaiskaki Square” in Piraeus, right outside the ferry port. The ticket costs 5.00€. The trip takes from about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and a half.

  • Metro: The subway will take you from the airport to Monastiraki station. There you will change to line 1 (green line). The end of line 1 is Piraeus station, just outside the entrance to the ferry port. The journey time from Athens International Airport to the port of Piraeus is about one hour. Trains are every half hour (:00 and :30), with the first service departing the airport at 05:30 and the last service at 23:30.

  • Taxi: This is the most hassle-free way. The drive from the airport to the port takes 45 to 60 minutes.

During summer season, from the middle of June until the middle of September, Amorgos ports can also be reached with high speed vessels departing from Piraeus and Rafina ports. Vessels like Seajet Superjet deliver services to Amorgos during that period.

WHAT IF I WANT TO ARRIVE EARLY OR STAY LATER? CAN I BOOK AN EXTRA NIGHT AT AEGEALIS?

Yes, you can book extra nights through the Aegalis Hotel website or on Booking.com. The Aegealis is almost fully booked for the summer season including around and during our immersion, so we recommend doing it right away. If there are no rooms left at our hotel, the other option is to stay at another resort on Amorgos before or after the immersion. Here is a list of what we found on the internet. Note that we don't know anything about these other resorts except that they are near the Aegelis hotel. Click here

WHAT WILL THE CHARGES BE FOR THE ROOM IF MY HUSBAND/WIFE/PARTNER ACCOMPANIES ME BUT IS NOT ATTENDING THE TRAINING? It depends on which room you choose to stay in. There are only a few rooms with 1 queen or king size bed and each rate is different depending on the kind of room (ocean view, garden view, standard etc…). In this situation first choose the room and then contact info@yoqi.com to make sure that this room has 2 spaces available. You will then book your room on the website and your partner’s room rate will be paid separately, as it will not be the same price. The rate of your partner not taking the course will not include the tuition fee. Again this fee will depend on the room rate.

WHAT ARE THE BEACHES LIKE?

On Amorgos, a charming Cycladic island, the visitor can discover secluded and remote beaches like Mouros, Plakes, Kambi, Levrossos, Psili Ammos, Mikri and Megali Vlychada and Agii Saranda which are considered to be among the best beaches on the island. Of course, there are also other popular and busy beaches like Katapola or Aegiali, located next to the two ports of Amorgos. The island’s highlight  is Agia Anna beach, below the impressive 1000 year old Byzantine monastery of Chozoviotissa, where the famous film “Big Blue” was shot. Choosing the best beaches in Amorgos is not an easy task, as the island boasts some of the most beautiful and scenic beaches in the Cyclades. Taking this into consideration, Aegialis Hotel & Spa has prepared a list with most beaches on the island, so that your visit to Amorgos and Greece consists of an endless beach exploration.
